Covid-19 Protocol for Voice & Piano Lessons

2020 and 2021 have been a difficult time for all of us. Gratefully, many students have been able to safely continue their music studies virtually in the last year. As of May 2021, vaccination was approved for anyone 12 and over. This includes the majority of my students but there are still our youngest musicians that will need to wait until the vaccinations are approved for their age group. To keep us all as safe as possible, Northwest Songbird Voice & Piano Studio will be following guidelines and precautions recommended by the CDC and approved by a personal friend and former CDC epidemiologist:

  • Voice students who are fully-vaccinated, including the two week wait after second shot, are welcome to attend voice lessons in-person at my home studio on the border of Carnation and Duvall, WA

  • Lyndee White, teacher, is fully-vaccinated

  • Piano students will preferably be fully-vaccinated but if unable to be vaccinated, we will agree on a set of strict guidelines including masking for teacher and student so that piano students can still lessons in-person

  • Hand sanitizer at the door

  • Student and teacher 13 feet apart for voice lessons

  • All windows and doors open for maximum ventilation

  • 15 min break between students for air circulation and time to wipe down high-touch surfaces

Virtual lessons over Zoom will continue to be offered from now on as well and can be interchangeable with in-person instruction. If you are interested in in-person lessons, you can do a combination of some weeks in-person, some virtual, if that makes it easier. If someone is driving a student out to the studio, you are welcome to relax in my garden during the lesson. There is a table, umbrella, and adirondack chairs with a lovely view to enjoy!
